Confidential Non-judgmental Doctor-supported

Whatever you decide, you deserve support.

Our role is to help you understand your pregnancy, your choices, and what happens next.

Understanding pregnancy

Start with what you know.

Pregnancy is usually dated from the first day of your last menstrual period. This date helps your healthcare professional estimate how far along the pregnancy may be and which care options may be suitable.

1

Confirm the pregnancy

A home pregnancy test is often the first step. If the result is positive, you can speak to a healthcare professional about the next steps.

2

Work out your dates

If you know the first day of your last period, we can usually use this to estimate the pregnancy duration.

3

Ultrasound if needed

If your dates are uncertain, or your clinician needs more information, you may be asked to have an ultrasound before treatment.

Important: Severe pain, fainting, heavy bleeding, or feeling very unwell may need urgent medical assessment. Do not wait for an online consultation if you think you may have an emergency.
Your choices

There is more than one path.

You should never feel rushed into a decision. Take time to understand what each option may mean for you personally, practically and emotionally.

01

Continue the pregnancy

You may choose to continue the pregnancy and parent the child. Early antenatal care can help you plan for a healthy pregnancy and connect you with support.

A healthcare professional can help with antenatal care, folic acid, screening, planning for delivery and practical support during pregnancy.

02

Adoption or alternative care

Some people choose to continue the pregnancy but do not feel able to parent. Adoption and other care arrangements can be discussed with an appropriately qualified professional.

You can ask for counselling or social-work support to understand the process, your rights and the support available to you.
